At Blushies we believe that the best way to fit a bra correctly is to try on different styles and sizes as getting the right fitting bra will improve your posture and figure in an instant.
Most of the support in a bra comes from the band, not the straps so it’s important that the band fits snugly with room enough for two fingers all the way the back and sides and sits horizontally. With a new bra the band should be fastened on the loosest hook. If the band rides up at the back, this could be a sign that it is too big.
The centre panel between the cups should sit flat against your ribcage and fit the natural shape of your breasts, with no bulging or gaping in the cups or under the arm. If there is wrinkling in the cup you should go down a cup size and if there is bulging over or out of the sides you should go up a cup size.
If your band size has changed it is important to remember that your cup size will also have changed. If you need to go down in the band you should automatically go up in the cup for example from a 36C and you are now wearing a 34 band your cup size will now be a D cup. Please see the chart below.
